Launch of Flare by CAUSE
Join CAUSE and the E-Lab to mark the launch of Flare. Developed by the King’s College-founded CAUSE team – Gabriel Brown, Morgan Saville and Geno Racklin Asher – Flare is an emergency SOS app for campus safety.
Flare is a free mobile tool for student safety. With just one tap, users can quickly and discreetly send alerts to family and friends. The app is designed to promote student confidence and safety by providing users with an easy-to-use and accessible safety net. Since launching on iOS and Android in November 2023, Flare has attracted partnerships with over 20 students’ unions and groups across the UK. The app has also generated attention from the press, including the BBC, Varsity and the Cambridge Independent, for its intuitive functionality and grassroots approach to user adoption and engagement. As members of the E-Lab’s 2022-23 cohort, the CAUSE team won the King’s Entrepreneurship Lab Competition for their pitch of Flare in September 2023.
The Flare team and E-Lab are thrilled to invite you to join the app’s launch event, held in the Keynes Lecture Theatre on Friday, 19 January. The event will be an opportunity to celebrate the app’s launch, learn more from early adopters, and find out about Flare’s plans for scale and growth.
