The "small actions" you take today can put you on the path to big career success tomorrow. If these actions are innovative, intelligent and well-timed, they can make a lasting impact and help you navigate your career journey in the face of uncertainty and disruptions.
Eric Sim, a key opinion leader, shares practical and actionable tips to help you achieve your career goals. He draws these from his diverse real-life experience — from selling street food and training to be an engineer, to becoming a managing director at UBS Investment Bank. With over 2.7 million followers on LinkedIn, Eric Sim, CFA, is the author of "Small Actions: Leading Your Career to Big Success”, and a former adjunct associate professor of finance at HKUST (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology). Eric will be in conversation with Jan-Patrik Reimann, CFE, a current EMAcc student (Darwin College) at CJBS. He is a law firm executive, member of the CFO Committee of the German Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and a former financial correspondent and lecturer at HKU (University of Hong Kong). He began his career in London, working on the JPMorgan “London Whale” US$6.2 bn trading loss investigations, before relocating to Hong Kong in 2013 where he held roles as a compliance consultant and the regulatory lead of a fintech startup. Born in Germany, he studied Chinese, psychology and law in Beijing, Glasgow and Oxford.
