Scaling Digital Innovation in Clinical Trials: Lessons Learned and Future Vision

Join us for an inspiring event that delves into the exciting world of digital health innovation in clinical trial design, and the impact it will have on future patient care.

Our panellists will discuss the current impact that digital health technologies are having on clinical trials and patient care, along with the pivotal role that regulatory agencies will have in shaping the future of digital innovation. The panel will also discuss the role Pharma and other key stakeholder groups play in shaping the future of digital health technology adoption.

Panellists

Luis Garcia-Gancedo

Luis Garcia-Gancedo is a Senior Director and Head of Digital Health Strategy for the Oncology TA at Evinova, a Healthtech Scaleup within AstraZeneca. In his role, Luis and his team streamline the development and deployment of novel digital solutions to make oncology clinical trials more effective, efficient and patient-centric. Luis holds an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge, a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Brighton and a BSc in Physics from the University of Oviedo in Spain.

Musaddiq Khan

Musaddiq currently serves as VP, TA and Digital Outcomes Strategy, at Medable. In his role, he leads therapeutic area groups along with sensor & wearable strategy to help shape fit for purpose digital solutions by providing cross-functional support to translate digital capabilities into clinical operational delivery. Prior to joining Meable, Musaddiq has held various, operationally focused roles at Parexel, Roche, AstraZeneca and Eli Lilly. Musaddiq holds an executive MBA degree from the University of Cambridge.

Dr. Onil Bhattacharyya

Dr. Onil Bhattacharyya MD, PhD is the Frigon Blau Chair in Family Medicine Research at Women’s College Hospital, and director of the Institute for Health Systems Solutions and Virtual Care. He is also the co-chair of the Canadian Primary Care Research Network. He practices family medicine and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. He has been a Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy at the Commonwealth Fund in New York City and a Takemi Fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health. His work focuses on evaluation of digital health tools, balancing rigour and responsiveness to conduct research in collaboration with policymakers to inform allocation decisions.

Ameen Mirjan

Prior to joining Roche Canada, Ameen has served as a staff pharmacist at globally renowned hospitals including the Toronto General Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children. Ameen had also founded a technology integratio firm through which he coded and launched health WebApps in the hospital sector aimed at standardising the quality of care in the Oncology space. Prior to his current Executive MBA candidacy from the University of Cambridge, Ameen earned a post-graduate Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toronto, a BS of Engineering from McMaster University, and a BS of Pharmacy from the University of Queensland.
